How to use My Aged Care Provider Finder
Once you’ve been allocated a home care package, you’ll receive a letter of approval from My Aged Care. The letter will outline the level of care you’ve been allocated based on your assessment (Levels 1 to 4).
Now it’s time to find a provider. The My Aged Care Provider Finder is a straightforward tool that allows you to search for aged care providers in your area. Learn more in this guide.
Here’s how to use My Aged Care Provider Finder.
Step 1
Go to the My Aged Care website and tap the ‘Find a Provider’ option, then ‘Search for a provider’
Step 2
Choose whether you want to find a provider by location or by name. You’ll be presented with several options to narrow down your search. These include: service type (e.g. home care, residential aged care, short-term care), location, specific needs preferences such as languages spoken or cultural considerations.
Step 3
Once you’ve entered your search criteria, tap ‘Search’ or ‘Find Providers’. You’ll be presented with a list of aged care providers that match your search criteria, as well as their rating, contact information and details about services they offer.
Step 4
You can choose to compare multiple providers on the list. Select the providers you’d like to see a side-by-side comparison of, and tap ‘compare’ to add them to a comparison list. When you’re ready to compare providers, tap ‘compare providers’ at the top of the list.
Step 5
Look at the comparison table of providers. You’ll be able to see the overall star rating, quality standards, rooms, maximum refundable deposit, maximum daily payments, specialisations and support and culture of each provider.
Step 6
Take the time to review the providers’ profiles and learn more about their services, fees, quality ratings and other details. If you find a provider you’re interested in, you can contact them directly using the contact information provided on their profile.
Remember, you can contact My Aged Care for more information on finding a suitable provider.

If you or someone you care about is receiving aged care, it’s important to know your rights and to feel confident speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.
The Australian Government has introduced a new Statement of Rights to clearly set out what every older person should expect when getting support.
