Our commitment to accessibility
Hireup is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive experience for everyone, whether you’re using our mobile app, our website or the Hireup platform. We are dedicated to making Hireup work for all levels of abilities and devices.
We aim to comply with W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 to level AA. Doing so will help ensure that Hireup is easy to use for everyone.

Accessibility today
The Hireup platform and app are built leveraging accessibility best practices and community feedback.
Some of the techniques we've put in place are:

Videos
Our videos are captioned and/or are accompanied by transcripts

Headings
Pages are structured with heading levels to make navigating via a screen reader easy

Text
Text on Hireup can be enlarged without comprising readability or functionality

Inclusive language
We aim to use succinct, non ableist language. We also translate documents into easy English and other languages

Colour contrast
We use dark backgrounds with light text and vice versa to make it as easy as possible to read text

Hyperlinks
We try to be descriptive when linking words to other urls so that all users have context of our hyperlinks

Images
Alt text and descriptions are available for all photos, illustrations and pictures

Communication
We always try to communicate in several formats for our diverse community: text, email, phone, national relay service

People
When building new features we consult our diverse community and employees at Hireup who have a range of access needs
Make Hireup easier to use
We support the two latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) used on common devices. Hireup is also compatible with most assistive technologies (such as JAWS, VoiceOver, NVDA, Android TalkBack).
We want your feedback
Hireup is designed with you, and for you. If you have any feedback on the accessibility or usability of our platform, website or mobile app, please let us know via our feedback form.
