How to join Hireup as a support worker

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for becoming a support worker on Hireup.

To keep our clients and our workers safe, all of our support workers will be asked to provide photo ID and to complete the following checks.

How to apply:

1. Create your Hireup account

Get started by creating your Hireup account with your name, email, postcode and mobile number.

2. Completing verification

Along with proof of your identity and right to work, you’ll need the following documents to be verified via our trusted partner Cited.

Verification usually takes 2-3 days.

Learn more about transitional documents or joining Hireup if you hold a visa in Australia.

Are you from TAS or ACT?

If you're from Tasmania or the ACT, you will also need to complete the following check to provide support on Hireup.

3. Providing transport or support for children (under 18 years old)

You will need to complete these additional checks if you'd like to provide transport support or support to children and/or teenagers.

4. Completing your profile

On Hireup, who you support and the types of support you provide is entirely up to you.

To find work that matches your skillset, interests and availability, setup your worker preferences and profile. This is an important part of keeping our community informed, safe and thriving.

5. Signing your employment contract

We employ our support workers, there are no contractors here. We invest in our support workers through training, great pay and ongoing support.

Confirm your personal details and finalise your casual employment with Hireup. Agree to your responsibilities and read up on how we’ll support you as an employee. When you’re done, you’ll be part of the Hireup community and can start finding work.

Additional requirements

The below only applies if you have transitional documents or currently hold a visa in Australia.

Visa requirements

These are the visa requirements for registering on Hireup.

Transitional requirements for NDIS Worker Screening

Most support workers on Hireup will need an NDIS Worker Screening. However, there are some instances where workers can provide documents they already have (such as previously issued disability screenings) in lieu of an NDIS Worker Screening.

These are called ‘transitional’ documents. Here are a list of acceptable transitional documents by state.

If you’re currently going through the support worker onboarding and have the correct documents for the transitional arrangements, please contact us at hello@hireup.com.au or (02) 9113 5933.
