What is the NDIS Worker Screening Check?
Basically, the screening check assesses your potential risk to NDIS participants.
It includes a review of your criminal history, disciplinary and misconduct records, plus notifications and information from interstate screening agencies.
The check is mandatory for all workers working for registered NDIS providers.
How to apply for the NDIS Worker Screening Check
The application process varies from state to state, but generally starts with an application for clearance.
Once clearance is granted, you can work in risk-assessed roles. In some regions, like South Australia, this check is referred to as the "NDIS worker check."

Joining Hireup with your NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Before you apply for your screening, you must start your Hireup application and complete your identity verification with Cited.
- Once you've started your Hireup application, apply for your NDIS Worker Screening Check through your state's worker screening unit (see information above for each State).
- Enter Hireup's employer information to link your NDIS Worker Screening application with Hireup.

Employer ID: 4-3LLK-1901 - Add today's date as your start of employment if prompted.
- Once you've applied (and paid) for your application, Hireup will be prompted to verify your employment. It can take 7 days for Hireup to receive this request.
- Once Hireup receives the request, we have 30 days to verify this for you.
- If you have not received correspondence after 14 days to confirm you have been verified, please contact your state’s Working Screening Unit and ensure you entered in Hireup’s NDIS Registration number.
- Once Hireup has verified your employment, your state's Screening Unit will finalise your application and issue you a Clearance. This Clearance needs to be submitted to Cited for verification along with your other required documents.
NDIS Check: Multiple Employers & Verification
The NDIS Worker Screening Check is a national clearance valid for five years.
- Multi-Link: You can nominate several employers when applying or renewing.
- Verification: Only one employer needs to verify your application to trigger the screening process.
- Visibility: All linked employers can monitor your status (Cleared, Pending, or Excluded) in real-time via the national database.
