Announcing the
2025 Hireup Impact Grant Winners!

This year's grants are open to: 

• People with disability and older Australians who are registered clients on the Hireup platform, and 
• Active Hireup support workers who have regular support shifts booked via the Hireup platform. 

To be eligible, you need to be an Australian resident with an Australian bank account.

Individuals who are employed or engaged by Hireup in its Support Office or the Hireup Community Advisory Group and members of their immediate family or household are not eligible to apply for a Hireup Impact Grant.

This year, we're looking for ideas that help people connect with each other. This could be through a local community group, a special event, an activity, or an online network. We want to support ideas that remove barriers, making it easier for people with disability and older Australians to meaningfully connect with the communities important to them.

For support workers, the grants will fund ideas that improve your wellbeing at work, increase job satisfaction, and help you stay in the care sector.

In your application, please clearly explain your idea, experience, or opportunity. Tell us how it will help you connect with your community, improve your wellbeing, and (if you're a support worker) boost your job satisfaction.

We encourage you to be creative! While no idea is out of scope, it must relate to our theme of Community Connection & Wellbeing, and be achievable and tangible.

Seven grants are available for people with disability, older Australians and Hireup support workers, this is subject to change.

The application process involves two parts: 

• Part one: submit an application via the online application form. This requires you to answer questions about your grant idea, share your contact details, and review and accept the terms and conditions.
• Part two: if shortlisted, you will be asked to provide further information. If your online application is shortlisted, you will complete this part by providing additional information in a format that suits you (e.g., written, pre-recorded video, or presentation). Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to an informal meeting with representatives from Hireup and HESTA. You are welcome to have a support person accompany you for this conversation.

A committee of judges made up of Hireup employees and people with disability will review eligible applications. This committee will shortlist applicants based on a set of criteria, and together with a representative from our funding partners, HESTA, select the final grant recipients.

Recipients of a Hireup Impact Grant must advise Hireup of the date on which they intend to spend the grant and / or action any project or activity outlined in the recipient’s application process. This must be no later than 12 months after receipt of the grant (or part of it).

Hireup’s preference is to pay directly for any activity, equipment, event or opportunity that you wish to engage in. This can be a single sum or multiple different payments. 

Hireup may determine that any grant be provided as either a lump-sum payment or paid on a periodic basis subject to completion or satisfaction of any conditions determined by Hireup.

Recipients of a Hireup Impact Grant acknowledge that there may be risks involved in participating in Hireup Impact Grants and that Hireup does not guarantee any particular outcome of participation. In particular, there may be tax or other implications which Hireup does not take responsibility for and you are encouraged to obtain independent advice regarding such implications, such as whether any grant received constitutes assessable income for tax purposes. If a successful applicant is unable to accept a grant in the form of money due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Hireup will endeavor (but can not guarantee) to find an alternative way to bring their grant idea to life.
