What is Individualised Living Options (ILO)?

It's living on your terms.

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is an NDIS support that enables you to choose the home you’d like to live in and set up support that’s right for you.

What is ILO?

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is support to live the way that suits you.

This can include: in-home supports, a host living arrangement, living alone with support from neighbours, family, friends or community members.

Using your ILO funding, you can:

Explore different ways to live, with a host, housemate or alone.

Design your supports to help you live the way you choose.

ILO funding does not pay for a house, which makes it different to Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA), which is bricks-and-mortar housing for people with extreme physical or functional impairment.

What are the benefits of ILO?

  • Greater flexibility with fewer restrictions than other funding types.
  • Choose where you live and who you live with.
  • Access stable and consistent supports.

Who typically uses ILO?

Generally, ILO is for people:

  • with disability over the age of 18
  • who need more than six hours of help at home every day
  • who are ready to explore their home and living needs
  • who are willing to put in time and effort to design their future home.

ILO is beneficial for those moving out of the family home or a group home.
