Help around the house
Hireup users can receive support in the following areas as part of help around the house:
- Assisting with duties around the garden or yard
- General maintenance
- Cleaning and washing
- Home office duties such as completing paperwork and forms

Personal care
Personal care is different for everyone in the Hireup community. Some tasks and duties that could fall into personal care include:
- Showering
- Bathroom assistance

Education and employment
Hireup users can receive support as part of education and employment. Support workers can direct and assist users to achieve their goals at:
- School
- College
- Work

Therapy support
Therapy support is for people who want support with their therapy programs, examples include:
- Hydrotherapy
- Exercise physiology
- Occupational therapy

In-home care
In-home care may be used by the community in the following areas:
- Morning and evening medical routines
- Assisting with meal preparation and mealtime support

Out and about
Disability support workers can provide support in a range of different ways for out and about support including:
- Taking a class
- Travelling to any community activity
- Exercising
- Volunteering in the community

Transport
Hireup disability support workers can provide transport support. This might include:
- Getting to school, college or an appointment
- Day to day activities
- Transport to work
As part of transport support on Hireup, people seeking support can:
- Provide their own vehicle
- Use a support worker’s vehicle
- Use public transport

Complex support
Including: behaviour support, mental health support and specialised support
Positive Behaviour Support
Hireup disability support workers can provide behaviour support, and are specifically trained in Positive Behaviour Support. We provide complex behaviour support which includes the implementation of authorised restrictive practices.
As an NDIS Registered Provider, we:
- Provide additional behaviour support training to support workers
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Working with clients and clinicians in implementing reviewing behaviour support plans
- Monitoring and ensure behaviour support plans are meeting the clients individual support needs
- Follow all State and National requirements for supporting individuals with restrictive practices included in the Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Mental health support
Mental health support or support with a psychosocial disability is nonclinical on Hireup. This means Hireup support workers do not provide counselling, clinical psychological support or professional therapy supports. Hireup support workers can provide mental health support such as:
- Breaking social isolation through social and community connection
- Healthy lifestyle practices - walking, attending the gym or fitness sessions.
- Transport to appointments
- Learn news skills to build independence
- Building friendly networks
- Assistance in keeping on track with personal goals
Specialised support
Specialised physical and/or health related supports are tailored to each individual and workers providing specialised support require additional training which is provided by Hireup. Hireup support workers may provide support in the following specialised support areas:
- Manual Handling
- Anaphylaxis
- Epilepsy/Seizure Management
- Tube Feeding
- Catheter Care
- Medication Management
- Mealtime Management
- Bowel Care
- Diabetes Management
Hireup also has a Registered Nurse who is available to support in reviewing support needs, providing training and assisting with NDIS plan reviews.
