What support do we provide for people seeking support with complex support requirements on Hireup?
Hireup takes an individualised approach. Depending on the person’s support needs and what they need and want from Hireup, this could include assistance building their wellness plan, reviewing and sharing their individualised care plan, and providing training to support workers they connect with.
We require all users that join Hireup requiring some level of complex support to provide support plans corresponding to the area of support they require. Where a person does not have a plan, the complex support team will work with them to obtain the appropriate information.
For those who identify as needing it, the complex support team will check in with people seeking support to see how things are going, or help connect with suitable workers.
What support does Hireup provide for support workers providing complex support?
Hireup offers support in many forms for support workers, from mandatory paid training to checking in and debriefing after shifts. We provide a copy of each individual’s support plan, check in after each shift via our booking submission process, and have a 24/7 incident response form. We have a dedicated team of trained staff in the complex support team to support and assist our workers.
What is the process for someone seeking support with complex support requirements to join Hireup?
Once someone has completed their Hireup application, it is reviewed and directed to the most appropriate complex support team. The person may be approved and asked to provide copies of their existing individual support plans, or they may be guided to complete a support plan through Hireup. This all depends on the support needs, Hireup’s requirements and the support they need from Hireup.
In some instances, we require these plans before starting to receive support. This helps ensure we are providing the right support and helps the person to be supported safely.
