Do you like to take risks?
Not many of us do (some of us, too much!). However, Hireup’s Manager of Operational Risk and Resilience eats risk for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s his full-time passion.
He approaches risk with enthusiasm, seeing it as an opportunity to safeguard and empower others.
“I try and stop bad things from happening,” explains David. “And if they do happen, I try and make the impact as minimal as we possibly can.”
While it might sound frightening to talk about risk, David believes that it’s better to look ahead, be prepared, and be safe.
Each day, David and his team engage with all areas of Hireup, ensuring that operations run smoothly and safely.
“If you are a support worker, you know that you’re working for a business that is really interested in minimising the risks to your health and safety.”
“The same thing applies to our clients. We're really interested in making sure that we are looking at risk in a way that allows you to live the best possible life in a really safe and secure way.”
David goes further by saying that “We have risks…in hand so that we can worry about the more important thing, which is delivering the best possible services to our clients and to our community.”
David’s dedication to risk management is not about saying no, but about finding ways to say yes, supporting innovation and growth while keeping everyone safe.
