Support types: transport support

25th November 2020

Travelling from A to B can be an important part of daily life. Whether you’re going to an appointment, getting to work, going out to an activity or enjoying a road trip, Hireup disability support workers can help you go where you want to.

Your support worker can use their car, your car or public transport as part of transport support. For NDIS participants, you may be able to claim for transport support.

Check out our providing safe transport policy to understand more.

How is the Hireup community using transport support?

Ben met Warren on Hireup about two years ago. Together, their weekly booking involves grocery shopping, cooking, and putting together Ben’s radio program he hosts on 94.1 3WCB, ‘Everyday People.’ Going straight from the studio to a physiotherapy appointment and finishing the day grocery shopping, Ben utilises transport support to make his busy schedule work.

"We get along very well...he’s a good friend to be with,” says Ben. “I taught Warren not to do things for myself."
