Our rates are shown exclusive of GST. Under Australian law, is a legal requirement to apply Goods and Services Tax (GST) to business-to-business services. While NDIS participants are exempt from GST, this does not apply to service providers.
Hireup support workers are committed and passionate about what they do. All of our support workers are employed and vetted by Hireup. We pay our workers industry-leading rates and we offer competitive pricing.
Hireup gives providers and support workers complete choice and control, enabling you to find the right match for your service and client group. You can select the support worker that suits the needs of the clients you work with and arrange a free 15 minute meet-and-greet between the worker and your clients before you book them. We encourage you to use the platform collaboratively with your clients and collect feedback, so that they can have choice and control over who supports them and you can make future bookings with the support workers who best suit your clients.
As the legal employer of our support workers, Hireup aligns with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award. In order to ensure we’re compliant with the SCHADS changes, the minimum shift length for Providers is two hours. This allows us to fulfill our obligations to our workers.
To use Hireup for Providers, organisations must be NDIS registered, and uphold the NDIS Code of Conduct and Hireup’s Standards and Procedures. Among other commitments, this means that the people using your service are supported to have choice and control over who provides support to them and how they receive support on a shift.
The Hireup support worker online training modules have been created by a senior clinical nurse educator from Hunter New England Health District. This clinical nurse educator was also responsible for the development of HETI online (NSW Health online training platform) and also developed training modules for TAFE NSW.
Our support workers are paid to complete all training modules excluding optional learning. All mandatory training must be completed within the first 30 days of their first accepted booking on Hireup. All specialised support training is required to be completed within 30 days after their 3rd support shift with a participant with specialised support needs. Please let us know if one of your Hireup support workers needs to complete additional training to work with your clients.

Support workers providing complex support:
Hireup for Providers aims to facilitate choice and control for providers and choice and control for your clients. There are four ways to check whether a support worker is a good fit before making a booking:
1. Booking Notes
When you submit a new booking request on Hireup, you will be asked to include a Booking Note. You should include all details that are important for the support worker to order in order to confirm they are suitable for this booking.
2. Job posts
When you post a job on the jobs board, you can include all the details that are important for the shift. This will help support workers to self select whether they are the right person for this job.
3. Messaging
You can send messages to support workers through the platform. This is a great way to check support workers understand what they have agreed to and have the skills and experience required for your job.
4. Meet-and-greet
A meet-and-greet is an optional 15 minute catchup with the support worker, which can take place via phone, video call, or in person. It is a free-of-charge service offered to people seeking support and support workers. Because it is free-of-charge, no booking is made through the Hireup platform.
To organise a meet-and-greet, send a message to the worker you and your clients want to work with. Set a time and location for where you and/or the person they will be supporting can meet with the worker (this could be at your organisation’s premises, the client’s home, a local café, or a phone call).
During the meet-and-greet, you and the client can set expectations for the worker and find out whether they get along. Support workers should use this time to get to know the person they will be supporting, and to ask any questions about the support they are going to provide. Meet-and-greets are a great way to build new connections and to ensure support workers and people seeking support are the right match for each other
Posting a job is a great way to find new support workers, whether you want to fill a regular shift or fill a last-minute gap. To post a job:
If you'd like to, you can hide your job from other providers and clients.
If an incident occurs, the provider’s incident and emergency processes should be followed. We’ll also request the support worker to submit an incident report to Hireup.
Any required investigation should be carried out in collaboration between the provider and Hireup, including sharing information as needed to obtain the perspective of the person seeking support and the support worker.
Mandatory reporting should be carried out by the provider and Hireup according to their regulatory obligations. Sometimes this will mean two reports are made to the Quality and Safeguards Commission.
As a registered NDIS provider, we understand the importance of maintaining compliance with NDIS processes. If you are audited by the NDIS and you require additional information or documentation in relation to Hireup services you have contracted, contact us at providers@hireup.com.au to discuss your requirements.
At Hireup we recognise that carers play a vital role in providing daily care and support to people with disability.
Carers are people who provide personal care, support and assistance to another individual in need of support due to disability, medical condition, mental illness, or who is frail and aged. This does not include people who provide such support for payment, such as support workers on Hireup.
We provide access to thousands of support workers so that people with disability can access reliable paid support and provide respite to their carers. Carers play an essential role in the lives of many people with disability and we recognise that the support provided by informal carers is often overlooked from an economic perspective. We also recognise that there is a shortage of services targeted towards carers to support their physical health, mental health and employment outcomes.
We support the Statement for Australia's Carers. The Statement contains ten key principles that set out how carers should be treated and considered in service delivery settings.
Many clients on the Hireup platform have carers playing an important role in their lives. Find out about some of the ways Hireup works with carers:
