Australian disability workers mandatory vaccination details by state:

New South Wales: As of 1 December 2022, support workers in NSW are no longer required by the state to be vaccinated.
Victoria: As of 13 October 2022, support workers in VIC are no longer required by the government to be vaccinated.
Northern Territory: As of 15 June 2022, support workers in NT are no longer required by the government to be vaccinated.
Western Australia: As of 4 November 2022, there are no declarations in place relating to COVID-19 in WA.
Australian Capital Territory: As of 30 September 2022, support workers in the ACT are no longer required by the government to be vaccinated.
Tasmania: As of 1 July 2022, support workers in Tasmania are no longer required by the state to be vaccinated.
South Australia: As of 23 November 2022, support workers in South Australia are no longer required by the state to be vaccinated.
Queensland: As of November 1 2022, support workers in Queensland are no longer required by the government to be vaccinated.

Information for support workers

Stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 vaccination information for disability support workers.

It is recommended that support workers that have not yet had 3 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have regular rapid antigen tests (2 per week for full time staff).

How to get evidence of vaccination

We will be requesting evidence of an Australian COVID-19 vaccination. The documents we are accepting are:

First Dose - Immunisation Statement
Fully Vaccinated - Immunisation Statement or COVID-19 Digital Certificate
Fully Vaccinated - COVID-19 Digital Certificate
Up to date (Booster) - COVID-19 Digital Certificate (showing all doses)
Medical Exemption - Medical Contraindication Form or other appropriate form approved in your state or territory

Information for clients

The Department of Health has released information about the Covid-19 vaccine for people with disabilities.

As explained on the Department’s website, some people with disability are at greater risk of becoming very sick if they catch COVID-19. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a safe and effective way of protecting you, your family and the community. It also protects other people who may not be able to be vaccinated.
For unvaccinated clients it is recommended that only essential support continue and take place in the home and using appropriate PPE.

How can I book a vaccination?

Each state and territory may have a different process, find your nearest location via the Department of Health’s eligibility checker. If you're unsure about where you can get vaccinated or have questions about vaccination, contact your local GP.
